Centennial announces school supply distribution

Families in need can stop by Klinger Middle School on Sept. 9, from 4 to 5 p.m.

The Centennial Education Association and district staff recently held a school supply drive to provide support for families who are struggling with unemployment and other obstacles during the COVID-19 crisis.

Helping Hand Day – a school supply distribution day – will be Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 4 to 5 p.m., at Klinger Middle School, 1415 2nd Street Pike, Southampton. Bags of school supplies will be distributed to any Centennial School District student in need.

This event is free for all Centennial families who may need a little assistance at the time. In many cases, community members who have frequently been generous to others may now find themselves relying on the generosity of the community.

When you arrive at the middle school, have a sign indicating the school(s) your child(ren) attends and pop your trunk. When you enter the bus loop, you will pass the Farmer’s Market tables first, then the Helping Hand tables will be at the end. Please do not exit your car. Volunteers will load the supplies into your trunk. This will allow volunteers to observe appropriate social distancing while providing items for families.
