Bristol residents Carol and Bruce Beaton, with their recent donation to the Grundy Foundation’s “COVID-19: Feeding Bristol Borough” campaign, have issued a challenge to the community to match their $2,500 donation.

Gene Williams, executive director of the Grundy Foundation, announced that the Beaton contribution pushed the original goal of $10,000 over the top. With the matching funds, additional meals will be provided through August and September to borough individuals facing food insecurities due to the pandemic.

Local restaurants providing meals to seniors, the homeless and at-risk families as part of the campaign include Annabella’s Italian, Cesare’s Ristorante, King George II Inn, Itri Wood Fired and Mill Street Cantina.

Contributions big and small are appreciated, with 100 percent of every dollar feeding and caring for the hungry among us. Tax-deductible contributions can be mailed to the Grundy Foundation, 680 Radcliffe St., Bristol, PA 19007, or made at grundyfoundation.com using the PayPal Donate button. Please mark your donation with “COVID-19: Feeding Bristol Borough.”
