Fallsington Library, 139 Yardley Ave., Fallsington, is having a Discover Native America Grab & Go craft program pickup TONIGHT, between 6 and 8 p.m. Two more kits are available. Register online at buckslib.org under “events” and choose Fallsington and today’s date.
Kits include a booklet about the topic, fun activities and craft supplies and instructions. Crafts include a Lenape talking feather, Navajo animal fetish necklace and “Deerskin” journal. The game is Apache throw sticks. Limit 50 children (17 and under). Children will need an adult’s help with projects. Kits must be picked up during scheduled time.
Tonight’s pickup is the last of the library’s summer Grab & Go programs. Library staff members have enjoyed seeing photos of participants and their artwork. Photos are available on the library’s Facebook page.
Grab & Go crafts (simpler kits with just one project at a time), will be offered once or twice a month, through the end of the year, since in-person programs are still not happening in the library. These will be first come, first served.
Summer Quest ends on Saturday, Aug. 15. Turn in your logs by Saturday, Aug. 22. If you’ve earned raffle tickets (by reading for at least five hours, and/or by completing 10 activities), when you drop off your log, you can choose which raffle basket prize you’d like to try for. Raffle ticket winners will be drawn on Tuesday, Aug. 25. Winners must pick up their prizes in person at the Fallsington Library.
One Summer Quest Trophy is up for grabs this year for the person who logs the most reading minutes. All logs must be turned in by Saturday, Aug. 22. Winner will be notified on Tuesday, Aug. 25.
Additionally, an online fundraiser is being planned for the fall. The library is seeking donations of original artwork and antiques for the auction.
