Pennsylvania AFL-CIO endorses Fitzpatrick

Fitzpatrick is the only Republican congressional candidate backed by the state AFL-CIO

The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO has endorsed U.S. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-1st dist.).

Fitzpatrick is the only Republican congressional candidate backed by the state AFL-CIO.

“We were proud to endorse Brian Fitzpatrick for re-election to Congress. It takes 2/3rds of our Executive Council to endorse, and the congressman exceeded that easily. He had broad support of unions in the private sector, public sector and building trades. He shows a willingness to put partisan politics aside and support working families. That support of workers led to the endorsement,” said Rick Bloomingdale, president of the state AFL-CIO.

“Brian has stood with labor whether it is in the private sector, public sector or building trades. He has an open door for working families and is one of the few legislators that is bipartisan, which does not go unnoticed. We are not a political party and we stand with those that stand with us,” said Tom Tosti, president of the Bucks County Central Labor Council.

“I am truly honored to once again receive the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO endorsement. It is my mission every day in Congress to be an independent voice for the working families of Bucks and Montgomery counties. I have always fought for the interests of local workers and their families and I will continue to push for bipartisan solutions to create more jobs, higher wages and secure benefits,” Fitzpatrick said.
