Gritty visits Bucks

The Philadelphia Flyers Community Caravan drove through Middletown Township on July 14

The Philadelphia Flyers Community Caravan came to Middletown Township on Tuesday, July 14, to drum up support for the upcoming 2020 NHL Playoffs and 2020-2021 season. Middletown Township hosted the Flyers’ only planned stop in Bucks County.

Gritty, the mascot for the Flyers, was joined by DJ Reed Streets, in-arena host Andrea Helfrich, Flyers alumni and meLVin, the mascot for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Several vehicles from Middletown Township, the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company, and the Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad rounded out the procession.

Middletown Township officials thanked the Philadelphia Flyers for bringing their parade to the community and providing an exciting, safe event for locals to enjoy. It also thanked Visit Bucks County, Maple Point Middle School, the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company, the Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad, the Police Department, the Department of Public Works, the Department of Fire & Emergency Management and Shady Brook Farm for their efforts in making the event happen.
