Rep. Wendi Thomas (R-Bucks) will host a Telephone Town Hall meeting to discuss scams related to COVID-19 being perpetrated throughout the Commonwealth.
Thomas’ special guest will be David Shallcross, director of the Senior Protection Unit for Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro. Shallcross conducts seminars throughout the state on various types of identity theft, fraud, scams and other ploys used by con artists.
“Scams have been on the rise through the pandemic,” Thomas said. “This will give residents a chance to learn how to better protect themselves from scammers and to ask questions of David Shallcross, an expert who has devoted much of his career to fighting financial fraud and identity theft.”
The event will take place Wednesday, July 22, at 3 p.m.
Around 3 p.m., Thomas’ office will call residents so they can join in the conversation. They can ask a question or simply listen to the discussion.
If they do not receive an automated call asking them to participate in the town hall, they can dial 877-229-8493 and use the ID code 118398 to join the conversation.
