Southampton Free Library announced several events for July. All programs, with the exception of Story Strolls, will be held virtually either through Zoom or Facebook.
The library has four different Story Strolls set up throughout the Upper Southampton area for all to enjoy. A Story Stroll separates a picture book into several different interactive stops and spreads them out along a nice walk for a socially distant activity. Story Strolls can be found at the library, Tamanend Park, Veterans Field and Warminster Library. They are available to access anytime and will be up until Aug. 15.

Virtual Imagine Your Story as a Lunar Pioneer and Settler takes place Tuesday, July 28, at 6:30 p.m. A rather short time ago in human history, people went out from their established homes, pushing their technology to its very limits to explore, settle and ultimately make their homes in new, mysterious territories. Today, we live in an age where humankind will again set out to do the same thing. However, this time the new territories will be off of the Earth. NASA is actively developing technology and a plan for a viable permanent human presence on the moon. The library’s program will look at some of the challenges involved in developing and operating a settlement on the moon. A discussion will be held on what it will be like to be among the first settlers on the moon. This is a Zoom event. Register to receive the Zoom link at southamptonfreelibrary.org/full-calendar-of-events. This program is presented by Brian Heck, a NASA Solar System Ambassador.
