Middletown Township offers Rec-tivity Bags

These craft and activity kits are delivered to homes to keep kids active for six weeks of the summer

Middletown Township Parks & Rec is offering a new and different summer treat this year – Rec-tivity Bags. These fun craft and activity kits will be delivered to your door and help keep your kids active for six weeks of the summer.

Starting July 6, fun-filled bags will be delivered every Monday morning. Crafts, games and activities fill the bag for children going into grades K-5.

The first week you are registered, your child will receive their very own Rec-tivity String Backpack, filled with supplies to use with the crafts and activities included for each week you register.

In the weeks to follow, the bag will be a recycled paper shopping bag with different indoor and outdoor activities to have fun with for the entire week. Parks & Rec will even give ideas on how to creatively reuse the paper bag. The string backpack can become children’s mobile creativity backpack for the summer.

Among the variety of crafts and games in the bag will be a selection of kid-friendly recipes for children to do with supervision. Each week, there will be five kid recipes, and a kitchen tool of their own to help kids feel like a chef. Parents/guardians will need to provide the food for all recipes; food will not be provided in the bags.

Deliveries are every Monday morning, from July 6 to Aug. 10. You may pick the individual weeks you want, or in packages of three weeks or all six weeks. Pricing is as follows:

– Per week: $25 for each week registered
– 3-week package: $60
– 6-week package: $120
