Fitzpatrick honored by United States Chamber of Commerce

Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick was recognized for demonstrating bipartisan leadership and constructive governing

U.S. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-1st dist.) was honored by the United States Chamber of Commerce for his leadership and bipartisanship with two awards, the Abraham Lincoln Leadership for America Award and the Jefferson-Hamilton Award for Bipartisanship. These awards are given to members of Congress who demonstrate bipartisan leadership and constructive governing.

“I am honored to receive this recognition from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The American people deserve common-sense solutions to kitchen-table issues, and that is what bipartisanship gets you,” Fitzpatrick said. “Every issue we discuss in Congress has the ability to be bipartisan. I will continue to work with my colleagues across the political spectrum to make America healthier and safer, and to deliver results for the American people.”

For the Jefferson-Hamilton Award for Bipartisanship, Fitzpatrick was one of two members to score 100%. This award recognizes those members of Congress who in their actions have demonstrated a willingness to work across the aisle in support of common objectives. Rating is based on the number of bills — except those formally opposed by the Chamber — a member cosponsors introduced by a member of the opposite party.

For the Abraham Lincoln Leadership for America Award, Fitzpatrick scored 99%. This award recognizes those members of Congress from both sides of the aisle who in their actions have demonstrated the leadership to advance policies that support America’s free enterprise system.

The awards are earned by the 10 top scoring senators and 20 top scoring members of the House, apportioned by party.
