Middletown is open for business

Many local businesses are resuming operations now that Bucks County has entered the yellow phase of reopening

As Middletown Township and the surrounding region begin to reopen following COVID-19 closures, many local businesses are resuming operations.

The Middletown Township Economic Reopening Task Force, a group of local business leaders and elected officials, has been working to provide assistance for businesses in the Middletown Township community. The Taskforce has created a public information campaign, “Middletown Safe,” to spread the word that businesses are opening back up again.

A sign program is launching Friday, June 12, and will provide Middletown Township businesses with kits free of charge that include floor decals, yard signs and fliers.

Businesses can pick up sign packages at the Middletown Township Municipal Center; Robin Kemmerer Associates, Inc. in Levittown; and Inspire Federal Credit Union in Langhorne. Additional information can be found here.

The Taskforce has also created an online information portal with important resources for small businesses reopening to a new set of community safety procedures.

After one week of being in the “yellow phase” of reopening, and as active COVID-19 cases continue to trend downward, the Middletown Township board of supervisors has decided to reopen all playgrounds at Middletown Township parks.

Visitors and their children are encouraged to practice social distancing out of respect for others. Frequent hand washing and hand sanitizing should be practiced before and after children play.

Recently, the Township launched a newly-redesigned website, middletownbucks.org. The new site now reflects the Township’s visual identity and features an easy-to-use menu that remains available on all pages, allowing information to be located within a few clicks.

It features a COVID-19 portal for residents with helpful information and resources. This portal can be found on the Resident Safety page. The new design also features an accessibility tool allowing visitors to modify text sizes, languages and color schemes.

Also, in response to the demand to provide contactless services amid COVID-19 closures, Middletown Township has launched MTGo, a brand new platform for residents and community members to alert the Township of service needs in the community.

Residents have the option to submit service requests for issues including potholes, code violations, downed trees, and streetlight outages, to name a few.

Residents can access MTGo via the Township website and mtgo.co
