Though business has not been “as usual,” Parks & Recreation, the Library and Senior Center are adapting to this vastly different world to keep the community engaged.
Parks & Recreation has created a Virtual Recreation Center, providing virtual classes, daily activities, weblink resource center, list of local restaurants open for takeout, family Facebook Live game nights and more. Visit northamptonrec.com.
Trails at the Municipal Park are open for walking, jogging and riding, however, the playground, sport fields, basketball courts and roller hockey rink are closed. Practice social distancing. It is recommended to wear a face mask.
The Library website, northamptontownshiplibrary.org, helps visitors navigate to a variety of e-books, e-audio books, movies and music. Children can enjoy story time readings, book talks and crafts. Learn a language, improve your technology skills and tune into the health and wellness series from Doylestown Health.
Use your library card to access many online resources through the Bucks County Library System. Visit buckslib.org to apply for a free e-card and obtain your person PIN.
Beginning May 27, the Senior Center will be partnering with the Library to offer a virtual book club for ages 55 and older. While the James E. Kinney Senior Center is closed, you can leave a message at the center at 215-357-8199 and a staff member will return your call. Seniors can access senior-related services and enjoy activities offered through the Township, Parks & Recreation and Library websites.
