WW Philadelphia offering virtual workshops

Participants can connect with a Coach, learn about healthy eating and more

In an effort to help protect members from the coronavirus during the pandemic, WW Philadelphia with WW International has announced a new way for members to stay connected: WW Virtual Workshops.

“Our goal was to recreate the dynamic of the WW studio Workshop experience in a virtual format,” said John Birnhak, president of WW Philadelphia. “It is paramount to us that our members continue to enjoy their WW Philadelphia Workshop and stay on track by connecting with our new myWW Program from the safety and security of their own homes.”

According to information gleaned from a WW International survey involving more than 35,000 members, the goal was achieved: members enjoy Virtual Workshops with a 97 percent satisfaction rate. Comments from members included, “Very inspirational to help me stay on track during this time,” “Was so very easy to join and great to meet other members,” and “Feeling refocused for the next week and aiming for a loss, too.”

“During these times, WW Philadelphia Members enjoy staying in touch with their Coaches and Groups. This social interaction, now especially, helps Members maintain focus on their weight and health goals,” said Birnhak.

WW Philadelphia Members connect with a WW Certified Coach, Co-host and fellow Members in a 30-minute Zoom session dedicated to three primary areas of healthy life: food, fitness and mindset. Each week’s curriculum is rooted in decades of research bringing the latest science-backed techniques to help the Member build healthy habits.

WW Philadelphia Virtual Workshops are currently accessible with over 75 WW Philadelphia Virtual Studio days and times throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania and Southwestern New Jersey.

“Our Members have provided us with a very positive reaction by attending WW Virtual Workshops. Some of our Workshops have had over 50 members participating,” Birnhak said.

The myWW Program offers freedom and flexibility because it takes personal needs into account and figures out which option works best with a Member’s lifestyle. Here’s how myWW by WW (Weight Watchers reimagined) works:

Upon joining, a WW Member will unlock a personal assessment that will get to know their eating habits, food preferences, lifestyle and activity level. Based on their answers, the Member will be scientifically matched with a color, blue, green or purple, that will guide them toward food choices geared for their personalized weight loss, fitness and wellness goals. Their WW app will be personalized with their food and activity tracker, Connect groups, Fitpoints and more.

WW Philadelphia Virtual Workshops, plus digital fees, are $54.95 for one month, $149.85 for three months, and $299.70 for a six-month plan. WW Philadelphia has eliminated starter fees on the Virtual Workshop. In addition to the Virtual Workshop, plans include customized weight loss plans and the latest nutritional and behavioral science to help Members build healthy habits for life; coaching and a community that members can count on; and the WW award-winning app to access effective weight loss and wellness tools.

Those interested can call 215-648-1000 to go to wwphl.com and click on “Virtual Schedule” to locate a WW Philadelphia Virtual Workshop.

“While employees are working safely from home, we are manning the phones Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.,” said Birnhak. “Every call is being returned. We are receiving an average of 150 calls per day.”
