Silver Linings Recovery Center, 1262 Wood Lane, Suite 102, Langhorne, is offering free telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic to all people suffering from addiction, even those with no insurance.
The center is a private, out of network, drug and alcohol treatment provider that offers hope and healing through clinical programming. It works to provide an individualized treatment approach that utilizes evidence-based practices to maximize the potential for patients, families and stakeholders to find their “silver lining.”
People in the community with substance use disorders are vulnerable to coronavirus due to the effects that drug and alcohol use has on the respiratory and pulmonary systems. Additionally, individuals with a substance abuse disorder are more likely to be uninsured, experience homelessness or incarceration than those in the general population.
Silver Linings Recovery Center was founded by a recovering addict who knows what it’s like to sustain sobriety while being isolated from resources, like professional treatment, local meetings, and support groups for those that are uninsured.
Because of this experience, Silver Linings Recovery Center is now providing virtual addiction treatment to its patients via telehealth. It has opened up these online services to the members of the uninsured community. There are a number of resources that Silver Linings Recovery Center offers beyond the immediate support of talking to a substance abuse counselor, such as life skills development, family support, and skills training that will keep them on track when the pandemic is over.
According to the Bucks County District Attorney’s office, there were 688 reported opioid overdoses in 2019. Silver Linings Recovery Center hopes that by giving back to the recovery community during this trying time, it not only helps flatten the coronavirus curve, but also lowers the number of overdoses in the community in 2020.
