Bensalem offers non-congregate meals during school closure

Children can enjoy free breakfasts and lunches

Children can enjoy free breakfasts and lunches provided by the Bensalem Township School District Food Service Department. The district is utilizing its Summer Food Service Program eligibility through a waiver from the state to serve children 18 years and younger during this closure.

A bagged grab-and-go breakfast and lunch has been available at several locations since Wednesday, March 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children must be present to receive meals.

During the week of April 6, meals will be provided on April 6, 7 and 8. Children will receive meals for Thursday and Friday on April 8. Meals will resume on April 14 and continue through the closure.

No application is necessary. Meals are free and anyone is welcome to come to the designated locations. No one will be permitted to enter the buildings. Meals need to be picked up and taken home. Vegetarian options are available. The goal is to make sure all children have access to healthy food during the closure, and come back ready and nourished to learn.

Locations are:

– Belmont Hills Elementary School, 5000 Neshaminy Boulevard, distributed in main entrance bus zone
– Russell C. Elementary School, 4300 Bensalem Boulevard, distributed in main entrance bus zone
– Samuel K. Faust Elementary School, 2901 Bellview Drive, distributed in main entrance bus zone
– Bensalem High School, 4319 Hulmeville Road, flag pole entrance
– Benjamin Rush Elementary School, 3400 Hulmeville Road, distributed in main entrance bus zone
– Creekside Apartment Complex, 2500 Knights Road, Community Center
