Northampton Township announces facility closures

The library, administration building and other locations will be closed until March 30

Due to Gov. Tom Wolf’s Proclamation of Disaster Emergency, announced on March 12, and the public health emergency surrounding the coronavirus, known as COVID-19, the following Northampton Township facilities are closed until March 30, after which time the situation will be re-evaluated for appropriate action.

– Northampton Township Administration Building, 55 Township Road
– Northampton Township Senior Center, 165 Township Road
– Northampton Township Free Library, 25 Upper Holland Road
– Northampton Township Parks & Recreation Department, 345 Newtown-Richboro Road
– All township athletic fields, outdoor restrooms and facilities
– All township boards, commissions and committee meetings are cancelled until March 30
– All township sponsored programs, workshops and special events are cancelled until March 30
– The Northampton Township Police Department Open House, scheduled for March 28, is cancelled

The Northampton Township Emergency Management Team has protocols in place to ensure safety of police, fire and EMS responders, and residents.

Continue to exercise the following precautions to keep yourselves and family healthy, especially during the flu season:

– Wash your hands with soap and water, or hand sanitizer, frequently throughout the day, and particularly before you eat or touch your face, and after you sneeze, cough, or blow your nose
– Stay home when you are sick
– Put distance between yourself and other people – minimum of six feet
– Avoid close contact, or prolonged visits, with people who are sick
– Cover your sneeze or cough with a tissue or your elbow, throw the tissue in the trash and wash your hands
– Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using household cleaning spray or disinfectant wipes
– Get your flu shot if you have not done so already
