Bucks County Community College is presenting “Celtic Crushing: Larry Kirwan’s St. Patrick’s Day Concert,” on Saturday, March 14, at 7:30 p.m., as part of the Bucks Live! concert series.
Kirwan, the bandleader of Black 47 and host of Celtic Crush on SiriusXM, returns to Bucks to bring a mix of contemporary Celtic rock and traditional Irish tunes for what’s sure to be a raucous show. Kirwan is celebrating the release of a new Black 47 compilation CD, St. Patrick’s Day Party.
Bucks County’s own Hobnail will perform traditional Irish songs in the theater lobby from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Dancers from the local Ryan Kilocycle Irish School of Dance perform from 6:45 to 7 p.m, also in the theater lobby. The pre-concert performances in the lobby are free and open to the public. Tickets are required for the 7:30 p.m. concert.
The concert takes place in the Kevin and Sima Zlock Performing Arts Center, located inside the Gateway Center building on the campus at 275 Swamp Road, Newtown, where there is ample free parking. The theater is equipped with audio-loop technology for the hearing impaired.
Reserved seating tickets for “Celtic Crushing: Larry Kirwan’s St. Patrick’s Concert” are $15 general admission and free for Bucks County Community College students with current ID.
