The Trevose Horticultural Society will offer a make and take “Succulent Terrarium Workshop” on Tuesday, March 17, at 7 p.m., at the Bensalem Senior Center, 1850 Byberry Road, Bensalem. Succulents have gained popularity with plant enthusiasts as well as the general public in the last decade and have become staples in home decor and outdoor landscaping. Dr. Jessica K. Kim, owner and head designer of Bucks County Flowers + Things, will guide participants in creating a succulent terrarium. All materials and plants will be provided. Handouts for care and maintenance will be included.
Prior to dedicating full-time to her floral design and education consulting business, Kim taught masters and doctoral students at Teachers College, Columbia University. In 2010, she started the floral design certificate program at Bucks County Community College, where she taught required and elective courses in floral design for three years. She has taught several workshops for the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, the Clay Studio, and many other educational institutions in the area. She was most recently featured on CBSPhilly3 for her succulent workshops.
Kim currently enjoys growing her online business, giving talks and teaching workshops specifically working with live succulents. She resides in Yardley with her husband and three children.
