JANUARY 1

New Year’s Day Brunch: Holly Hedge Estate, 6987 Upper York Road in New Hope, will host a holiday brunch from noon to 2:45 p.m. This event is sponsored by the Solebury Township Historical Society. Cat Adoption: Come meet the furry love of your life at the Cat Tales Adoption Center, at the Warrington Pavilion Shopping Center, 1111 Easton Road, Suite 17 (next door to Animal Lifeline Thrift Store), in Warrington. Bucks County Genealogical Society Meeting: Bucks County Genealogical Society is hosting “Through the Golden Door: Immigration After the Civil War,” presented by The Legal Genealogist Judy Russell, JD, CG, CGL, from 10 a.m. to noon, at Delaware Valley University’s Mandell Science Building, 105 Campus Drive, Doylestown. Farmers Market Winter Market: This Winter Market takes place on the first and third Saturday of each month, through April. It is located at the Yardley Friends Meeting, 65 N. Main St., and is open from 9 a.m. to noon. For information, call 215-493-6832.

JANUARY 5

Eco-music Group Concert – Music of Puerto Rico: This event will take place at Silver Lake Nature Center, 1306 Bath Road in Bristol, at 3 p.m. This event features musicians Gloria Galante on harp, Suzzette Ortiz on piano, Raul Berrios on percussion, Asaf Berrios on steel drum, and dancing by Waleska Lopez. A special part of this concert includes learning about the many different instruments that Raul Berrios made by reusing/recycling items that may have otherwise been trash. Magic: the Gathering: Comic Archive, 319 W. Main St. in Lansdale, hosts this event at 2 p.m. This classic family-friendly card game enhances strategic thinking and skills while teaching good sportsmanship. Admission is free. JANUARY 6

Code Club: The Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library, 680 Radcliffe St. in Bristol, is hosting Code Club, a STEM educational series for children in grades 2 through 8. The club will meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. weekly. Students in grades 2-4 will meet on Mondays, and grades 5-8 will meet on Tuesdays. Using Prenda software, children will learn how to code in Blocky, JavaScript, HTML/CSS and Python and to build websites, video games, apps and more. Registration is required. Participants are invited to bring their own laptop or Chromebook to each session. A limited number of library Chromebooks will be available to use.
