State Reps. Tina Davis and John Galloway, both D-Bucks, recently announced that two Bucks County organizations have been awarded $518,000 in state grant funding from the Neighborhood Assistance Program, an innovative program which promotes private-public collaborations to help renovate distressed areas or help low-income populations.
The following organizations received funding:
– Bucks County Opportunity Council in Bristol Township received $18,000 to support its Economic Self-Sufficiency Program, which helps people achieve economic stability through education and employment.
– LTL Color Compounders in Falls Township received $500,000. The company is a supplier of Engineering Thermoplastic Compounds. The money will be used to add 60,000 square feet of production and warehouse space, which will enable LTL to grow and add 23 new jobs with benefits.
“This grant money invests in our most precious resource, our people,” Davis said. “Bucks County Opportunity Council’s signature program helps people find their footing in life through education and employment. This funding will help a great program give a second chance to even more Bucks County residents.”
“This NAP funding awarded to LTL Color Compounders will enable the company to fund 23 well-paying jobs with benefits,” Galloway said. “These are family-sustaining jobs and will help strengthen Bucks County’s economy. This is just what Falls Township needs to continue to grow and thrive.”
NAP provides tax credits to businesses that donate capital to support community projects. NAP can be used for projects in categories including affordable housing, community services, crime prevention, education, job training, charitable food, blight, special population issues, veterans’ initiatives and long-term community revitalization.
NAP has five main components: The Neighborhood Assistance Program, Special Program Priorities, the Neighborhood Partnership Program, the Charitable Food Program and the Enterprise Zone Program.
