Thomas announces grant for Bucks County Intermediate Unit 22

The grant for $28,197 will be used to purchase audio and video equipment

Rep. Wendi Thomas (R-Bucks) recently announced that the Pennsylvania Department of Education has awarded a grant to the Bucks County Intermediate Unit 22.

“I want to thank the Department of Education for appreciating the effectiveness of the Bucks County Intermediate Unit 22 and awarding a grant that will help students continue learning even when they are sidelined by illness or injury,” Thomas said. “This funding will be put to great use.”

The grant for $28,197 will be used to purchase audio and video equipment. An Intermediate Unit’s member school districts can then borrow the equipment and place it within the homes of students who are recovering from an accident or medical procedure or are experiencing a serious or chronic illness. The equipment enables students to participate in daily educational activities with classmates and teachers in real-time.

Intermediate units may also use the funds to train personnel on how to use the equipment.
