Voices in the Woods presents “Luminaria” as a free concert at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, 10 Chapel Road, New Hope, on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 3 p.m.
Voices in the Woods is a brand new professional chamber choir dedicated to providing an artistic voice for underrepresented composers. The ensemble commissions and records new music from composers of minority backgrounds such as women, African Americans, Asians, Hispanics, Latins, Native Americans and members of the LGBTQ+ communities.
With these commissions, Voices in the Woods pairs them with standards of the choral repertoire with the aim of promoting equality and diversity to reflect the modern, diverse audiences they serve. The members of Voices in the Woods are dedicated to bringing the highest quality of music while demonstrating the importance of equality and acceptance.
The concert is part of the Music at St. Philip’s 2019 series. All the concerts are scheduled for Sundays at 3 p.m. The concerts are open to the public and admission is free, though free will donations are accepted for the artists and the outreach of the church.
