Genealogy Workshop: Southampton Free Library, at 947 Street Road, Southampton, will host this event at 10:30 a.m. Susan Koelble, a professional genealogist, will lead a workshop on genealogical research and assist attendees with their own research. Yes and…Improv for Adults: Bucks County Playhouse will host this education program at Lambertville Hall, 57 Bridge St., Lambertville, New Jersey on Thursday, Dec. 5 and Dec. 12, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This class offers two hours of collaborative active games, improv techniques and opportunities to nurture creativity. Christmas at Cairn Concert and Starry Night: Cairn University, at 200 Manor Ave., Langhorne, will host these two events. First, there will be two performances of the annual Christmas at Cairn concert — at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase at cairn.edu/tickets. At 5:30 p.m., walk the main campus walkway for Starry Night. Witness the trees decorated with Christmas lights and holiday-themed activities such as horse-drawn carriage rides, hot chocolate and cider, and Christmas cookies. This event is free. No registration is required for Starry Night.

Bucks County Genealogical Society Meeting: “The Quest to Find the Heimat: German Research Basics,” presented by Debra Hoffman, professional genealogist, takes place from 10 a.m. to noon, at the David Library of the American Revolution, 1201 River Road, Washington Crossing. This lecture will provide basic tenets for how to locate and identify an ancestor’s German town of origin. It’s open to the public. Cost is $5 for members, $10 for non-members. Cat Adoption: Come meet the furry love of your life at the Cat Tales Adoption Center, at the Warrington Pavilion Shopping Center, 1111 Easton Road, Suite 17 (next door to Animal Lifeline Thrift Store), in Warrington. Celtic Christmas: “Celtic Christmas in Bensalem” will take place at Bensalem High School Performing Arts Center stage, 4319 Hulmeville Road, from 5 to 7 p.m. The show consists of more than 100 performers, comprised of professional musicians, dancers and a representation of the talented students in Bensalem Township School District. Holiday Chili Luncheon and Cookie Sale: Newtown Presbyterian Church, 25 N. Magic: the Gathering: Comic Archive, 319 W. Code Club: The Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library, 680 Radcliffe St. in Bristol, is hosting Code Club, a STEM educational series for children in grades 2 through 8. The club will meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. weekly. Students in grades 2-4 will meet on Mondays, and grades 5-8 will meet on Tuesdays. Using Prenda software, children will learn how to code in Blocky, JavaScript, HTML/CSS and Python and to build websites, video games, apps and more. Registration is required. Participants are invited to bring their own laptop or Chromebook to each session. A limited number of library Chromebooks will be available to use.
