Newtown Presbyterian Church, 25 N. Chancellor St., Newtown, is hosting a Holiday Chili Luncheon and Cookie Sale on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Join for chili (meat or vegetarian), cornbread, salad, dessert and a beverage. The Presbyterian Women will also sponsor their annual Cookie Sale. Cost is $12 for adults, $5 for children under 12, and free for ages 3 and under. Tickets available at the door. Take-out orders available.
Proceeds from the Chili Luncheon benefit the maintenance and beautification of the Historic Presbyterian Church on Sycamore Street, which was built in 1769. This church is used during the summer for Sunday worship and for special occasions. The Cookie Sale raises money to fund the Presbyterian Women benevolences that range from local mission causes, as well as regional and international organizations that support at-risk women and children.
