Bucks offers courses completely online during winter session

Students can log on and learn from Dec. 16-Jan. 12 between semesters, then transfer credits back to their ‘home’ college or university

College students can make the most of winter break, and save a tidy sum on tuition, by earning up to eight credits in just four weeks during winter session at Bucks County Community College.

Registration is underway for online classes beginning Monday, Dec. 16 and ending Sunday, Jan. 12. Credits easily transfer to most four-year colleges and universities, enabling students to work toward their degrees at a lower tuition rate – $165 a credit for Bucks County residents – and transfer credits back to their home school. Students with a satisfactory academic standing can take up to two courses during winter session.

Bucks is one of the few colleges in the region offering the highly-concentrated academic term. It’s the perfect way to catch up on required courses, get ahead for the spring semester, or retake a course from the fall. There are 52 courses offered, with 74 total sections, including Introductory Accounting, Basic Human Anatomy, Effective Speaking, U.S. History, English Composition I and more.

All courses are offered completely online, allowing motivated students to study from home, or from wherever they are spending their winter break. However, some in-person proctored testing may be required.

Students can look up courses and register online at bucks.edu/winter.

In-person registration is available Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until Dec. 13 (closed Nov. 28-29) at the Newtown Campus, located at 275 Swamp Road, Newtown; the Epstein Campus at Lower Bucks, at 1304 Veterans Highway, Bristol; and the Upper Bucks Campus at One Hillendale Road, Perkasie.

Special in-person advising and registration sessions are also scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3 and Wednesday, Dec. 4 in the Cafeteria, located in the upper level of the Rollins Center, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 16 in the Registration Office, located in the lower level of the Linksz Pavilion on the Newtown Campus. Registration must be completed by Dec. 16, and payment is due in full at time of registration.

Classes begin online on Monday, Dec. 16. For more information, visit bucks.edu/winter, call 215-968-8100 or email [email protected].
