Sesame Place kicks off the holiday season with ‘A Very Furry Christmas’

The park will be transformed into a one-of-a-kind holiday wonderland this weekend

Sesame Place is kicking off the holiday season this weekend with A Very Furry Christmas at Sesame Place. Beginning Saturday, Nov. 23, the park will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland with millions of twinkling lights and festive decorations all around. This is a family-friendly celebration.

Make magical winter memories at the Merry Marketplace, located in Oscar’s Wacky Taxi courtyard. Warm up next to a fire tower, and enjoy tasty treats of the season, including speciality hot chocolate and kettle corn, as you browse unique gifts and holiday items. Selections include holiday ornaments and TOMS shoes, which can be personalized for any person on your gift list.

While visiting the Merry Marketplace, take a step into the all-new immersive snow globe photo experience, sponsored by Dasani. Families can enter the 12-foot winter wonderland-themed globe for a unique photo opportunity.

Not only will Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer again spend the holiday season at Sesame, special to this year, he and his friends Clarice, Bumble and Sam the Snowman will be available for photos with guests in Rudolph’s Winter Wonderland.

The center of the 1-2-3 Christmas Show – a 30-foot, fully-illuminated pixel-based tree – will project festive animated images. Guests can dance along to a festive holiday soundtrack, all making for the ultimate light show experience.

Guests can also sing along at three special Christmas shows and take a train ride tour through the Twiddlebugs’ Gingerbread Cookie Factory on the Sesame Place Furry Express. Don’t miss the Neighborhood Street Party Christmas Parade with music and dance moves that will have everyone dancing along and joining in the fun. Visit Santa’s Furry Workshop for an elf-guided journey to meet Santa Claus, who will be there through Jan. 1.

On Nov. 23, join for a special Christmas celebration as Santa illuminates the night for the first time this year to help kick off A Very Furry Christmas. After some singing and dancing with Santa’s trusty elves and everyone’s favorite Sesame Street friends, Santa will arrive on a horse-drawn carriage to light up the night with millions of twinkling lights. Guests will be able to visit with him in his Furry Workshop.

On Monday, Dec. 23, Sesame Place will celebrate the park’s first-ever Menorah Lighting Ceremony. The celebration will be led by a local rabbi and Baby Bear, who celebrates Hanukkah with his family. This special event is included with park admission.

Black Friday sale is starting early. Now through Dec. 2, save 25 percent on 2020 season passes and start enjoying all the benefits now during A Very Furry Christmas and visit all next season.
