The Cairn University Symphony Orchestra will present a concert titled “A True Classic: Mozart and Haydn” on Friday, Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in Chatlos Chapel, on campus at 200 Manor Ave., Langhorne.
Hear the orchestra perform “Papa” Haydn’s very last symphony. Having written more than 100 symphonies, Franz Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 104 possesses all of the “Sturm und drang” style of the German literary period in the late 1700s.
The orchestra has performed under the leadership of Dr. Thomas Hong, alumnus of the university and seasoned orchestral conductor, since September 2018. In addition to previously held titles in the Dallas, Pittsburgh and Seattle Symphony Orchestras, Hong more recently was named the music director of the Penn Symphony Orchestra at the University of Pennsylvania.
