NOVEMBER 13

Bariatric Surgery Information Session: The St. Mary Medical Center Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Program will host an information session for people wanting to learn more about surgical options and finding out if bariatric surgery is the right choice. The session will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Medical Staff Office Conference Room at St. Mary Medical Center, at 1201 Langhorne-Newtown Road, Langhorne. School Lane Charter Open House: School Lane Charter School, 2400 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, will host an open house for prospective parents and students from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Attendees will meet faculty and staff as well as current students and their families. The open house will include a tour and the opportunity to learn about the charter school’s unique International Baccalaureate program. NOVEMBER 15

Concert: Bucks County Community College is presenting a night of Americana, bluegrass and country music with The Gibson Brothers at 7:30 p.m. The concert takes place in the Kevin and Sima Zlock Performing Arts Center, located inside the Gateway Center building on campus at 275 Swamp Road, Newtown. Parking is free. The theater is equipped with audio-loop technology for the hearing impaired. Tickets are $15 general admission and free for Bucks County Community College students with current ID. In addition, a limited number of VIP tickets are available for $30, including a pre-concert reception beginning at 6 p.m. with light hors d’oeuvres and two glasses of wine or beer. Cat Adoption: Come meet the furry love of your life at the Cat Tales Adoption Center, at the Warrington Pavilion Shopping Center, 1111 Easton Road, Suite 17 (next door to Animal Lifeline Thrift Store), in Warrington. Magic: the Gathering: Comic Archive, 319 W. Main St. in Lansdale, hosts this event at 2 p.m. This classic family-friendly card game enhances strategic thinking and skills while teaching good sportsmanship. Admission is free. Code Club: The Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library, 680 Radcliffe St. in Bristol, is hosting Code Club, a STEM educational series for children in grades 2 through 8. The club will meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. weekly. Students in grades 2-4 will meet on Mondays, and grades 5-8 will meet on Tuesdays. Using Prenda software, children will learn how to code in Blocky, JavaScript, HTML/CSS and Python and to build websites, video games, apps and more. Registration is required. Participants are invited to bring their own laptop or Chromebook to each session. A limited number of library Chromebooks will be available to use.
