School Lane Charter School, 3340 Tillman Drive, Bensalem, will open its doors to community members on Nov. 14, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., for an Open House for prospective parents and students.
Attendees will meet faculty and staff, as well as current students and their families. The Open House will include a tour and the opportunity to learn about the charter school’s unique International Baccalaureate (IB) program.
As the only public school in Bucks County that offers the IB program free of charge, School Lane Charter School provides families with a unique educational option for grades 7-12. The school’s 12:1 student-to-teacher ratio ensures individual attention.
The IB curriculum has a global context that encourages respect for different cultures and points of view. With real-life context and examples, students are taught to see connections among the subjects they are studying, their own experiences and what is happening in the world around them. Additionally, the IB curriculum encourages both personal and academic achievement, challenging students to excel in their studies and in their personal development.
“Research shows that students with an IB education are often better able than their peers to cope with heavy workloads, manage their time and meet the expectations and demands placed on them during high school and in college,” said CEO Karen Schade.
