Rep. Wendi Thomas (R-Bucks) and Sen. Tommy Tomlinson (R-Bucks) recently announced that they helped secure a $225,000 Keystone Grant from the Department of Education to fund repairs and upgrades to the Free Library of Northampton Township, 25 Upper Holland Road, Richboro.
“This funding will help the library make needed repairs, which will reduce local pressure to find the additional funds,” Thomas said. “I am pleased we were able to convince the Department of Education that these funds were needed to maintain such an important asset to our community.”
“I want to thank the Department of Education for recognizing the importance of this project for our community,” Tomlinson said.
The money will be used to replace automatic entrance doors and carpeting, to repair cupola windows and atrium, to upgrade electrical wiring and replace three HVAC units.
Northampton Library was one of 19 public libraries in 12 counties to have been awarded $3.25 million in Keystone Grants from the Department of Education to use for improving physical facilities.
