Rep. Gene DiGirolamo was special guest reader at Bright Beginners Academy

DiGirolamo voiced his support for high quality early education in Bensalem

On Oct. 15, Rep. Gene DiGirolamo was enthusiastically welcomed back to read to children at Bright Beginners Academy in Bensalem. During his visit, DiGirolamo met with staff from Bright Beginners Academy and United Way of Bucks County and voiced his support for high quality early education and early intervention services.

Bright Beginners Academy leadership staff presented DiGirolamo with a plaque to recognize him for his outstanding leadership in health and human services. As chairman of PA’s House Human Services Committee, DiGirolamo has sponsored legislation and worked locally to address the needs of Bucks County residents.

DiGirolamo read stories with the children in Bright Beginners’ Pre-K Counts classroom. Bright Beginners Academy is a STAR 4 inclusive preschool and child care center. It is one of United Way of Bucks County’s 12 partners which offers Pre-K Counts, a state-funded program which provides high quality Pre-K for low- and moderate-income families.

“We are very grateful to Representative DiGirolamo for being such a strong champion of young children and families. His support of high quality early education programs such as Pre-K Counts is just one example of his commitment to help our most vulnerable neighbors,” said Marissa Christie, president and CEO of United Way of Bucks County. “The smiles on the children’s faces today was a special reminder of how wonderful it is to have the support of legislators and partners such as Bright Beginners.”
