Bucks County Community College invites families and children of all ages to an interactive Halloween concert and costume party featuring Lolly & YoYo! on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 3:30 p.m. on the Newtown Campus.
Lolly & YoYo! inspire children to play, exercise and be healthy with their high-energy shows and music. Their songs and games engage children’s imaginations while they dance, jump, hop, run and play. Children are encouraged to wear costumes to this family-fun event.
The duo consists of Larissa “Lolly” Hopwood, who began her lifelong love of music as a little girl dancing to Cat Stevens, Joni Mitchell and Harry Nilsson. Since those early days, Hopwood has performed as both a children’s musician and in indie bands.
Hopwood’s musical partner is Yvonne “YoYo” Custers, who founded LET’S PLAY TODAY – a company designed to inspire children and adults to see fitness as fun, playful and lifelong. The company has grown into a mobile, educational fitness program for children ages 16 months through 12 years old, and has spread internationally. Custers co-produced two children’s music CDs, and co-authored an interactive children’s book MOVE! with Hopwood.
The fun takes place in the Kevin and Sima Zlock Performing Arts Center, located in the Gateway Center building on the campus at 275 Swamp Road, Newtown. Parking is free. The theater is equipped with audio loop technology for the hearing impaired.
The performers will meet and greet the audience in the Zlock PAC lobby after the show. Reserved seating tickets for all ages are $5. Tickets can be purchased online at bucks.edu/tickets, or at the box office.
