The Playwicki Farm Foundation recently conducted a special “Call to Action,” seeking volunteers for firefighting and administrative positions for the Lower Southampton Fire Department. The event took place at the historic 110-acre Playwicki Farm, located at 2350 Bridgetown Pike, Feasterville, as part of the final Second Friday community events program for this year.
Pictured at the event unfurling a recruitment banner, which will remain displayed at the farm (from left) are Rose McMenamin, president of the Playwicki Farm Foundation; Deborah Kaplan, a Lower Southampton Township supervisor; Vince Doyle, president of the Lower Southampton Fire Department; Patrice Luongo, vice president of the farm foundation; and Ed Shannon, also a Lower Southampton Township supervisor.
The benefit evening also featured food trucks, a wine and beer garden, vendors and crafters, bounce houses, pumpkin painting for kids, plus a live performance by the Kirko Band.
Government officials were at the event, which was attended by several hundred local residents. Pictured are Rep Frank Farry (third from right); Matt Gilbert (fourth from left), director of the Lower Southampton Township Parks and Recreation Department and a member of the foundation board; and Ryan Hall (far right), of American Heritage Credit Union in Feasterville, sponsor of the Second Friday series.
