Free community training to prevent suicide

An information session is scheduled for Oct. 24 at St. John’s Anglican Church in Southampton

The public is invited to a free community training on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at St. John’s Anglican Church, 1150 Bristol Road, Southampton, to learn how to help save a life from suicide.

The session will cover QPR, which stands for Question, Persuade and Refer – three simple steps that anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. The training prepares attendees to recognize the warning signs of suicide, ask someone about suicidal thoughts, and offer to connect them to help.
