Team Pirates won the 2019 Spring-Summer League Billiards Championship on Sept. 16 during the tournament held at the James E. Kinney Senior Center, 165 Township Road, Richboro.
The Pirates were captained by Jim Diviny and beat the Phillies, captained by Larry Lukas, in the final best-of-three round, winning 2-1.
League commissioner Pete Palestina said the regular season league play started on April 22 and concluded on Sept. 16 after 75 games were played by each team prior to the playoffs for the championship. A total of six teams made up the league, with 3 to 4 players assigned to each team.

The upcoming Fall-Winter league is larger than ever with 12 teams, and began play on Sept. 23. The league plays on Mondays, unless there is a holiday closing, in which case the games that week are played on a Tuesday.
