The first quarter moon will be in the night sky for International Observe the Moon Night on Saturday, Oct. 5. The public is invited, rain or shine, for a star party at the Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library, 680 Radcliffe St., Bristol, beginning at 6 p.m.
Members of the Bucks-Mont Astronomical Association will set up their telescopes to assist astronomy enthusiasts with viewing the moon and constellations outdoors. Attendees are welcome to bring their own binoculars and telescopes, or use those provided by BMAA for the event.
In addition to viewing the night sky, there will be light refreshments, a photo booth, an indoor scavenger hunt and crafts. Participants also have the opportunity to enter a free drawing for a telescope.
No registration is required for this free, family event.
