Visit Bucks County’s Tourism Grant Program, instituted in 2008 to assist nonprofit organizations in the development and enhancement of tourism product in Bucks County, is readying for another round of grant applications.
After 11 years of awarding grants totaling more than $4 million in tourism funds, Visit Bucks County is accepting the next round of grant applications due by Oct. 1.
The VBC Tourism Grant is supported from a portion earned from the Bucks County lodging tax. Eligible recipients must be nonprofits or other entities located in Bucks County.
Grant funding can be used for website redesigns and enhancements, marketing collateral, capital improvements, tourism product development and more. Successful uses of grant funding include public exhibitions like the new High Rocks Climbing Wall exhibit at the Bucks County Children’s Museum and The Art of Seating exhibit at the James A. Michener Art Museum.
In addition, grant dollars have supported marketing efforts for events and exhibitions including the renovation of the Thompson Neely Grist Mill at Washington Crossing Historic Park, Bristol Riverside Theatre’s production of The Rivals and New Hope Celebrates’ annual Pride events.
During the last round of grants in April, the Tourism Grant Program distributed $181,000 in grants to more than 30 Bucks County nonprofits.
