Vaping: The Growing Trend Among Middle & High School Students: This event will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Township Library of Lower Southampton, 1983 Bridgetown Pike, Feasterville. Between 2017 and 2018, e-cigarette use increased 78 percent among high school students and 48 percent among middle school students. During this event, the Council of Southeast Pennsylvania talks about this growing trend, the hidden dangers, risks and prevention. Newtown-Yardley Creative Writers Workshop: This group meets every other Thursday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Corner Bakery Cafe, 3 West Road, Newtown. Cat Adoption: Come meet the furry love of your life at the Cat Tales Adoption Center, at the Warrington Pavilion Shopping Center, 1111 Easton Road, Suite 17 (next door to Animal Lifeline Thrift Store), in Warrington. Code Club: The Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library, 680 Radcliffe St. in Bristol, is hosting Code Club, a STEM educational series for children in grades 2 through 8. The club will meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. weekly. Students in grades 2-4 will meet on Mondays, and grades 5-8 will meet on Tuesdays. Using Prenda software, children will learn how to code in Blocky, JavaScript, HTML/CSS and Python and to build websites, video games, apps and more. Registration is required. Participants are invited to bring their own laptop or Chromebook to each session. A limited number of library Chromebooks will be available to use. Golf Fore Kids’ Sake: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County will host Golf Fore Kids’ Sake, to take place rain or shine, at the Doylestown Country Club, 20 Country Lane. Golfers are welcome to join BBBSBC staff, local dignitaries and former Eagles and Phillies players for a day beginning with breakfast and concluding with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Cost for an individual golfer is $250, and foursomes are available for $1,000. Proceeds go toward helping the children of Bucks County who are involved with the organization’s programs. Registration begins at 10 a.m., with shotgun starting at 11 a.m. Special hole-in-one contest prizes include a trip for two to Las Vegas, Nevada or a trip for two to the 2020 U.S. Open in Queens, New York.
