Located beside the Schuylkill River, West Laurel Hill, 225 Belmont Ave., Bala Cynwyd, is the premiere cemetery and funeral home in the Philadelphia region, and has been designated a national historic landmark. It is also known as a stunning landscape to host a variety of events and a destination for fundraising for the cemetery’s community partners.

On Saturday, Sept. 14 at 10 a.m., West Laurel Hill is partnering with the Women’s Animal Center to host pets and their parents on the cemetery grounds for the annual Woof, Wag + Walk – a light-hearted, pet-friendly walking tour featuring some of the cemetery’s favorite pet stories.

Not only will pets and their owners enjoy a pet-related history tour, they will have the opportunity to tour The Laurels – a pet center and state-of-the-art aquamation center. The Laurels is a beautifully-designed section of West Laurel Hill dedicated to end-of-life care for four-legged family members.

Attendees can meet representatives and adoptable pets from the Women’s Animal Center, 3839 Richlieu Road, Bensalem, a community partner of West Laurel Hill. Not only are several of the founding members of WAC laid to rest at the cemetery, both organizations are proudly celebrating their 150th anniversaries this year.

Well-behaved pets welcome. Registration fee is $10 per dog. All proceeds directly benefit the Women’s Animal Center. Rain date is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. For more information and to register, visit westlaurelhill.com/events or call 610-668-9900. Advanced and day-of registration is available.
