On Sunday, Sept. 15, the Butterfly House season is ending, and Churchville Nature Center, 501 Churchville Lane, is having its monarch tagging and release event. Last year, it tagged 100 monarchs and released 100 more.
The house will be opened at 11 a.m., with the tag and release portion of the event taking place at 1 p.m. There will be cake and paw paws, a beehive demonstration and more.
Cost is free for CNC members, $5 for non-members. Monarch tagging is an additional $4. The number of butterflies is limited. Pre-registration for the tagging event is required by Sept. 9.
