St. Mary Medical Center recently announced that it is a 5-star recipient for C-Section Delivery as recognized by Healthgrades, the leading online resource for information about physicians and hospitals.
St. Mary is the only hospital in Bucks County to receive the 5-star distinction in C-Section Delivery for five consecutive years (2015-2019). This 5-star rating indicates St. Mary’s clinical outcomes are statistically better than expected for C-Section Delivery.

To help consumers evaluate and compare hospital performance, Healthgrades analyzed all-payer state data for 15 states for years 2015 through 2017. Healthgrades found there is a significant variation in hospital quality between those that have received a 5-star rating and those that have not.
For example, from 2015-2017, patients having a C-Section Delivery in hospitals rated 5-star have, on average, a 57 percent lower risk of experiencing a complication while in the hospital than if they were treated by hospitals rated 1-star. Statistics are based on Healthgrades’ analysis of all-payer data for years 2015-2017 and represent three-year estimates for patients in 15 states for which all-payer data was made available.
St. Mary is also only one of two hospitals in the Philadelphia region to receive the 5-star distinction in C-Section Delivery for five consecutive years (2015-2019).
