Bucks County Community College held a graduation ceremony recently for 58 adults who passed the High School Equivalency (formerly GED) examination. They were cheered on by nearly 200 family and friends in a moving ceremony held at the college’s Gene and Marlene Epstein Campus at Lower Bucks.

The graduates were from two HSE preparation classes: Bucks County Community College’s Adult Basic Literacy Education program and PA CareerLink’s Center for Young Professionals program.

Graduates faced a myriad of challenges along the way to reach their goal of a high school equivalency diploma. Many have families of their own, work full-time jobs, or faced other barriers that they overcame to reach this accomplishment.

Bucks offers HSE preparation classes for Pennsylvania residents age 18 and older. The funding is provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. To learn more, contact G. Jay Francis at G.Jay.Francis@bucks.edu or 215-258-7757.
