Concert: Free summer music concerts will take place on Wednesdays at Monument Bank Amphitheater Central Park, 425 Wells Road in Doylestown, at 7 p.m. This week, Big Chill (classic rock) will perform. Genealogy Workshop: Southampton Free Library, 947 Street Road, Southampton, will host this event at 10:30 a.m. Susan Koelble, a professional genealogist, will lead a workshop on genealogical research and assist attendees with their own research. Newtown-Yardley Creative Writers Workshop: This group meets every other Thursday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Corner Bakery Cafe, 3 West Road, Newtown. The friendly group features readings and critiques. All types of writing are welcome, including novels and short stories, science fiction/fantasy, poetry and memoirs. Magic: the Gathering: Comic Archive, 319 W. Peach Social: The Bristol Cultural and Historical Foundation is holding its Annual Peach Social in its air-conditioned headquarters at 321 Cedar St., Bristol, from 2 to 4 p.m. Attendees will be treated to angel food cake topped with ice cream and fresh, sliced peaches, plus a cold beverage. Homemade baked goods, including peachy treats, will be on sale. Takeouts will be available with own container. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Bucks County Quilt Show: The 15th Annual Bucks County Quilt Show is on display at the Bucks County Visitor Center, 3207 Street Road in Bensalem, weekdays through September. Code Club: The Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library, 680 Radcliffe St. in Bristol, is hosting Code Club, a STEM educational series for children in grades 2 through 8. The club will meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. weekly. Students in grades 2-4 will meet on Mondays, and grades 5-8 will meet on Tuesdays. Using Prenda software, children will learn how to code in Blocky, JavaScript, HTML/CSS and Python and to build websites, video games, apps and more. Registration is required. Participants are invited to bring their own laptop or Chromebook to each session. A limited number of library Chromebooks will be available to use. Cruise Into Kindergarten: Southampton Free Library, at 947 Street Road, Southampton, will host this event at 10:30 a.m. Children entering kindergarten in the fall are welcome to attend a special program to help prepare them for school.
