On Saturday, Oct. 26, Cairn University, 200 Manor Ave., Langhorne, is hosting Keith and Kristyn Getty’s Sing! Regional Conference and Children’s Event for the Delaware Valley. This conference is geared toward pastors, musicians and leaders to build a biblical understanding and creative vision for the congregational singing in their churches.
The children’s event is a fun, 1-hour interactive time with Kristyn and some of the Getty Band, where children will sing and learn about Kristyn’s experiences in Ireland and Irish instruments. The conference will later be followed by a Sing! concert at the Patriot’s Theater in the Trenton War Memorial, from 7 to 10 p.m.
“The Sing! initiative began as a celebration of 500 years since Martin Luther brought the church back to congregational singing,” said Keith. “We share his passion that theology should be sung, and so through this tour we want to celebrate how worship transforms individuals, families and strengthen and encourage congregational singing across our churches.”
Tickets are $10 for the conference and $5 for the children’s event. Lunch options are available on campus at additional cost. Purchase tickets at gettymusic.com/events. The conference takes place from 9 a.m. to noon at Chatlos Chapel, and the children’s event takes place from 11 a.m. to noon at Holmes Hall.
