Chickie’s & Pete’s aims to raise $40,000 for families of fallen police on National French Fry Day

Crabfries will be $1 in all participating locations, including Parx Casino, on Saturday

Chickie’s & Pete’s is presenting the 5th annual Crabfries for Heroes on National French Fry Day on July 13, from 11 a.m. to midnight. This Saturday, thousands of orders of world-famous Crabfries will once again be offered for an amazing cause for $1 each.

The fundraising event supports the families of fallen police officers. This year’s goal is to beat a record and raise $40,000.

“Police officers need our support, they need everyone’s support,” said Chickie’s & Pete’s founder and chairman Pete Ciarrocchi. “Officers need to know we have their backs and if something happens to them, we will be there to support their families. We are proud to bring back this annual tradition and hope to break a record this year. The generosity of our customers is astounding.”

In addition to $1 Crabfries, locations will offer $5 Miller Lite Personal Pitchers. Sales from each order of Crabfries and each pitcher will go to The Fraternal Order of Police Survivors Fund.

Crabfries for Heroes started as a simple idea to say “thank you” to police officers for their service and dedication to their communities. After seeing the need firsthand, Ciarrocchi and his team decided to make a major commitment to the FOP Survivors Fund. To date, the restaurant has raised more than $80,000 through the initiative.

“Pete is a larger than life guy who has a heart that is simply unbelievable,” said John McNesby, president of FOP Lodge 5. “We have quietly gone to Pete and Chickie’s & Pete’s time and time again for help and we have never been turned away. In fact, we are embraced. This man and his team live their lives by being a part of our community every day and supporting our officers day in and day out.”

In addition to raising funds, Chickie’s & Pete’s will make sure police officers in the region are well-fed this Saturday. They will take their Crabfries Express truck on the road to feed officers in multiple police districts throughout the city of Philadelphia.

Participating locations include Parx Casino, 2999 Street Road, Bensalem.
