The St. Mary Medical Center Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Program will host its next bariatric surgery support group to help patients who have had the surgery meet their program goals. Each support group session features a different guest speaker on a topic specific to bariatric surgery aftercare.
“We believe it is important to stay closely involved with our patients in the weeks and months before and after the procedure to help them adjust to the surgery,” said program coordinator and meeting facilitator Dr. Valerie Batezel. “The support group allows patients to learn ways to adjust to their new lifestyles, share experiences and encourage each other in a safe and supportive environment.”
The support group will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3 in the Medical Staff Office Conference Room at St. Mary Medical Center, located at 1201 Langhorne-Newtown Road, Langhorne. The conference room is located on the first floor by the parking garage at the rear of the St. Mary campus.
The bariatric support group meeting is free of charge, but registration is required as seating is limited. To find out more about the support group meetings at St. Mary or the Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Program, call 215-710-5711 or visit stmaryhealthcare.org/bariatrics
