The Bucks County Family Service Center, a ministry of Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, is hosting Family Fun Days on Tuesdays throughout the summer. Each session offers a fun, educational day for families and consist of hands-on interactive activities.
All Family Fun Days are open to the public and take place at 10 a.m. at the Fatima Catholic Outreach Center, 2915 Street Road, Bensalem. Events include “Fun in the Sun Summer Safety” (barbecue and lawn games) on July 9; “Family Cooking with Shara Aaron,” registered dietitian at St. Mary Medical Center, on July 23; “Family Literacy Day with Pat,” librarian with the Bensalem branch of the Bucks County Free Library, on Aug. 6; and “Back to School Safety” on Aug. 20.
The Bucks County Family Service Center is the first point of contact for individuals, families and parishes when they seek assistance from Catholic Social Services. It is one-of-seven such centers located throughout the five-county metropolitan area comprising the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
In addition, the Fatima Catholic Outreach Center, a partnership between Catholic Social Services and St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, primarily serves members of the Latino and Hispanic communities of Lower Bucks County and Northeast Philadelphia. It offers many resources including a food pantry; community garden; English and general education classes; leadership development; document assistance; legal, immigration and benefits support; family and parenting groups; prenatal care and support; tutoring; before- and after-school fun; senior care; and more.
