Opportunity Center offers Resource Day for seniors and low-income families

This takes place in Bristol on June 19

The Bucks County Opportunity Council is hosting a Resource Day at its Opportunity Center, 721 Veterans Hwy, Bristol, on Wednesday, June 19. Staff and volunteers will be on-hand between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to assist with applications for a variety of services including rent and property tax rebates, vouchers for free produce, monthly food boxes for seniors, weatherization and more.

No appointments are needed. PECO has also donated 100 fans that will be given out to visitors.

The property tax and rent rebate program is for seniors, widows and widowers age 50 and over, and people with disabilities age 18 and over. Just last week, the deadline to apply for 2018 rent and property tax paid was extended to Dec. 31.

Visitors to the BCOC event should bring with them their photo ID, proof of income and their rent receipts or property tax receipts for 2018. For more information, visit bcoc.org
