The Bucks County branch of the NAACP is partnering with the Bensalem Police Department for a Family Fun Evening on June 10 at 7 p.m. at 2400 Byberry Road, Bensalem. This event takes place in lieu of its regularly scheduled general meeting, which occurs every second Monday of each month.
The purpose of this family-friendly event is to open the Bensalem Police Department to the community to tour the police facilities, view the state-of-the-art equipment, tour the “Teenage Bedroom,” see the new DNA testing equipment, and watch various demonstrations including the K9 police team.
“This will give the community a great opportunity to meet local officers and visit the facility,” said Karen Downer, president of the local NAACP branch. “It is important that our children get to know the police and get a better understanding of what they do and the rights that we have as citizens.”
