The second session of Code Club, a STEM education series at the Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library, 680 Radcliffe St., Bristol, launches the week of June 2 with some important updates.

The summer 2019 series for grades 2–9 is on Mondays from 5 to 6 p.m., with a new series for ages 16-adult on Tuesdays from 6 to 7 p.m.

Using Prenda software, participants learn how to code in Blocky, Java Script, HTML/CSS and Python, to build websites, video games, apps and more. Session three begins Sept. 3 and continues to Dec. 17. Separate registration is required for each of the free sessions. Participants are invited to bring their own laptop or Chromebook to each session. A limited number of library Chromebooks will be available to use during Code Club.

The Grundy Library was one of 50 libraries selected from a nationwide pool of 350 applicants to receive a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services for small and rural libraries, in partnership with Prenda software, to teach computer programming through weekly code clubs.
