Great Books Discussion Group: This Langhorne/Newtown/Yardley-based group meets in a private home on alternate Wednesdays. Upcoming discussions include White Nights by Dostoyevsky on May 15; North Country by Roxanne Gay on May 29; and The Oresteia, Agamemnon by Aeschylus on June 5. Neshaminy Mall Spring Carnival: Neshaminy Mall, at 707 Neshaminy Mall in Bensalem, will host a Spring Carnival through May 19, from 4 to 11 p.m. weekdays and noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The carnival will include family-friendly entertainment with circus shows, rides for all ages, games and food. There is no charge for parking, admission and Victoria Circus shows. Cat Adoption: Come meet the furry love of your life at the Cat Tales Adoption Center, at the Warrington Pavilion Shopping Center, 1111 Easton Road, Suite 17 (next door to Animal Lifeline Thrift Store), in Warrington. Nature Egg Scavenger Hunt: Silver Lake Nature Center, 1306 Bath Road in Bristol, will host this event from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Many creatures lay eggs in the depths of the woods. This fun activity for the family will challenge participants to find these “special” hidden eggs throughout the forest. Solve the mystery of the special eggs to achieve one of many prizes. Magic: the Gathering: Comic Archive, 319 W. Andalusia Historic House Tours: Tour the Andalusia Mansion, 1237 State Road in Bensalem, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Mondays, except for major holidays. Enjoy a self-guided garden tour of Andalusia Mansion, a national historic landmark and home of Nicholas Biddle. Code Club: The Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library, 680 Radcliffe St. in Bristol, is hosting Code Club, a STEM educational series for children in grades 2 through 8. The club will meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. weekly. Students in grades 2-4 will meet on Mondays, and grades 5-8 will meet on Tuesdays. Using Prenda software, children will learn how to code in Blocky, JavaScript, HTML/CSS and Python and to build websites, video games, apps and more. Registration is required. Toddler Time Program: This event will be held at Barn Nature Center, 1283 Almshouse Road in Doylestown, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Toddler Time programs are a parent and child experience that includes crafts, songs, music, books, activities and animals to help develop your child’s sense of adventure and imagination as well as appreciation for the world around them. Trevose Horticultural Society Meeting: “Hens, Chicks and Eggs” will be the featured program at this meeting, held at 7 p.m. at the Bensalem Senior Center, 1850 Byberry Road, Bensalem. In a show-and-tell format, Cookie Woodson will discuss the care and feeding of backyard chickens accompanied by hens and chicks from her flock. All meetings are open to the public. Garden Club Program: The Martha Washington Garden Club is offering a program led by Dominic Mack — Introduction to Hydroponic Growing from BrightFarms Yardley. BrightFarms provides fresh, local produce, delivered to supermarkets within 24 hours of harvest. This is done year-round using sustainable growing methods. Cost for a guest is $5. Joe Conklin’s Comedy Night: This event will be held at Parx Casino, 2999 Street Road in Bensalem, from 8 to 10 p.m. This weekly show features “the man of a thousand voices” Joe Conklin and three comedians every Wednesday.
